SOTU: Obama Calls For Minimum Wage Hike In 2013 State Of The Union Address Feb 13th 2013, 06:56 WASHINGTON -- President Barack Obama wants an increase in the minimum hourly wage from the current $7.25 to $9 by the end of 2015. Obama also proposes the minimum wage be required to keep pace with inflation. The current rate took effect in 2009.
