The San Francisco 49ers defense made sure that Matt Ryan would not author another late game-winning drive. With just more than a minute remaining, the 49ers broke up a fourth down pass attempt from Ryan to Roddy White to end the Falcons' bid for a go-ahead score.
Five plays later, the 49ers were headed to the Super Bowl with 28-24 win in the NFC Championship Game.

A Tony Gonzalez touchdown catch in the final seconds of the second quarter staked the Falcons to an 24-14 lead at the intermission.
