'The Walking Dead': Can Rick Win A War Against The Governor? Glen Mazzara Speaks
Feb 9th 2013, 23:47

When "The Walking Dead" returns for its second half of Season 3 (Sunday, February 10 at 9 p.m. EST on AMC), Rick (Andrew Lincoln) and The Governor (David Morrissey) are facing off and it may be a "fight to the death."

Woodbury vs. the prison is going to be like no other battle "Walking Dead" fans have seen before. "You can adapt to the zombie threat, and that's part of what Woodbury is about," David Morrissey told the AP. "But the new problem that has emerged in Season 3 is human beings. What you have now is two communities of humans in conflict. That's much more complicated."

Former "Walking Dead" Glen Mazzara (who led the AMC series throughSeason 3) said that it's not a fair fight because Rick is losing his mind, but that doesn't mean he won't win in the end. "Right now, there is a very formidable component coming to that prison, and it's throwing Rick's group into disarray because people have different agendas and Rick's own sanity is cracking. Now, how does he try to -- or can he even -- save his group?" Mazzara told TV Guide. "Rick's group realizes that they have poked a tiger, and they are waiting for The Governor to retaliate. They have to decide what to do. Do they now strike first? Do they wait for that retaliation? We are, of course, building to big, kickass finale, but The Governor acts quickly, so I don't think fans will have to wait too long before blood is spilled."
